What is meant by the term „geomorphological process“?
Geomorphological processes stand for the set of natural processes which for the Earth’s surface and affect adjacent geological environment. The main factors of these processes are tectonic aktivity, volcanic aktivity, climate, gravity and living organisms (including the man).
The importance of geomorphological processes with respect to the vulnerability of the territory
The expanding urbanisation of the countryside and the infrastructure development is the cause of incessant interaction between human aktivity and various geomorphological processes. Underestimation of an impact of this interaction can result in extensive damage such as landslide, floods or earthquake.
The importance of the analysis of the vulnerability of the territory lies in localization and characterization of those geomorphological processes that present an acute or potential risks.
